I know a lot of people have digital tablets but aren't comfortable using them yet. I created this lesson a few years ago to teach myself how to use my new digital tablet. I thought the best way to learn to draw with it was to draw in a traditional way at first. I picked the tools from my image editing program that felt the most "natural" to me and they turned out to be the most common tools found in all those types of programs.
The lesson takes you through the steps of drawing the sparrow in the traditional way. It starts with a line drawing and ends with a fully shaded and realistic drawing of the bird. Finally, I colorized the bird. I explain how to use all the tools that I used in this lesson.
