About Carol
My name is Carol Rosinsk and I'm a teaching artist. I love creating my art and teaching my medium to others.
I've tried several other mediums throughout my life but nothing has been a more expressive tool for me than the humble graphite pencil has been.
Graphite pencil is limited by its lack of color, but I find that limitation challenging. Like a river that's forced to run between steep banks, a medium that has limitations forces the artist to go deep and flow quickly.
I combine my love of drawing with teaching in my online drawing classes and in my book called Drawing Made Easy: Getting Started and The Discover Pencil Drawing Kit. (see below)
About Toad Hollow Studio
My husband and I live in Michigan in a small home in a small town. Our house is very close to a river and we see lots of wildlife, trees, wild flowers all around us.
Animals and the life cycles of nature have always been my inspiration. I study them closely and see that all lives are full of happiness, grief, relief, fear, peacefulness, and great joy.
Since my artwork is inspired by nature, I named my art studio "Toad Hollow Studio" to reflect the rich and wonderful stories I see unfolding around me. It seems like we have a story from "Wind in the Willows" acted out in our backyard everyday. When I started putting my work online, it seemed natural to name my web site "toadhollowstudio.com."

| Drawing Made Easy: Getting Started |
I wrote this book for beginning pencil (graphite) drawing artists.
Graphite pencil is a simple drawing medium that can be used to create beautiful artwork, and in this book I show readers how to do this with simple steps and clear instruction.
I begin the book by describing the basic tools needed to complete a drawing and how to use them. I explore topics such as texture, using the computer as a drawing aid, and adding detail to a subject. Then I provide five step-by-step demonstrations, guiding readers from initial sketches to polished works of art. |

To take a Class:
When a class is open for registration, you have to jump through a few hoops. I'm sorry about that, but the classroom software I'm using insists on it. Here's what you have to do.
- Log-in or create a new account in the classroom.
- Click on the title of the class to go to the course page.
- Use the Paypal button at bottom of the page to send payment.
- If you prefer to pay by check or money order, please contact me.
Those are the last hoops you'll have to jump through, I promise. After you've made the leap, you'll be able to get into the class as soon as it starts.
