There’s a simple truth that you need to know about drawing. If you want to draw well, you have to draw. You can read about technique, and teachers can point you in the right direction, but you have to put the pencil on the paper and draw to actually learn how to draw.
It’s a lot like learning to dance. You can watch Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movies, and you put on a salsa dvd, but you can’t really learn to dance until you move your feet.
You learn to dance one step at a time, and you learn to draw one drawing at a time. It really is that simple.
