Drawing Slowly

I draw slowly, very slowly. The art that wants to speak through me is slow to manifest. It never rushes through door filling the room with excitement, making itself known all at once. Instead, it reveals itself a piece at a time, carefully balancing each new phase against those which are already expressed. I’m patient. I wait to see what comes next, and then I draw it carefully. The art that comes through me is careful and slow and I’m happy to sit with it until it’s ready to be born.
