Drawing the Wind

Sometimes a drawing is a sure thing. I’ve got lots of reference photos and I can clearly visualize how I want it to look. Sometimes what I want to draw is the feeling evoked by a scene. Now that’s trickier. Drawing a feeling is like drawing the wind. You can’t. You can only draw leaves flashing, or wheat rippling, or saplings bending.

Note to self: To draw an emotion, keep both eyes and heart open.
